For the second time this season, Sun Devil forward Devin Marshall has been named the Pac-12 offensive player of the week.

Marshall led the team past the USC Trojans after scoring the game winning goal in the 89th minute.

“We were definitely due for a goal,”  Marshall said, “We had a lot of chances in the first half and we were getting fouled a lot in the second half but failed to come through. But we definitely deserved the game, so I’m happy we were able to pull through at the end.”

Marshal suffered an apparent nose injury early in the second half of the game. However, she was able to bounce back and come back into the game to make a difference.

“I didn’t even know there were 20 seconds left on the clock,” Marshall said, “But I saw Tosti with the ball with two defenders in front of her and my only thought was to widen out as much as possible. I was just screaming for the ball because I knew if she could hit it over, I would be there to score. Thankfully she placed it perfectly.”

Marshall has six goals and two assists on the season. She is currently in eighth place in the all-time scoring list for Arizona State.

The Sun Devils will need Marshall to continue her dominance as they take on No. 11 Cal on Friday and No. 2 Stanford on Sunday.
