It was all Arizona State from start to finish as the No. 5 Sun Devils steamrolled the USC Trojans 11-4 in Westwood, California Sunday afternoon.

ASU was on fire from the get-go, with three goals coming from junior attackman Rhett Rodgers and another from senior midfielder Adam Beauchamp to make it 4-1 Sun Devils after the first.

Arizona State’s young talent showed as freshman attackman Jake Marthens added two goals and freshman midfielder Carter Smith added one more goal in the second quarter.

ASU finished the first half with a 9-2 lead behind sophomore midfielder Tommy Carasco’s one goal and three assists along with Rhett Rodgers’ four goals.

The story would stay the same in the second half.

The Sun Devils kept the offensive pressure on, scoring two more goals courtesy of senior attackman Finn Wells and senior midfielder Henry Archie.

Despite scoring four goals in the game, with one goal coming in the closing seconds, the Trojans had a tough time against ASU’s suffocating defense and up-tempo play.

It was the team work of Arizona State that shined bright in their second game of the season. Fluid ball movement led to six different Sun Devils finding the back of the net.

ASU will be at home against Cal Poly on Saturday, February 20th at 1:00 p.m. MST.
