The No. 7 Arizona State Sun Devil baseball team (24-11, 12-5) defeated the Washington Huskies (21-15, 7-10) 4-3 on Saturday night thanks to a stellar outing from Ryan Kellogg and Andrew Snow’s big night at the plate.

Kellogg was dominant in his start, as he threw eight innings, notched six strikeouts, and allowed eight hits and two earned runs against the Huskies.

More importantly, Kellogg showed an ability to navigate dangerous situations, as he escaped multiple instances in which the Huskies had multiple runners on base.

Second baseman Andrew Snow led the Sun Devil offense in this game with two hits and two RBI. His last RBI came via a single in the bottom of the seventh that broke up a 3-3 tie and would ultimately be the winning run for ASU.

ASU fell in an initial hole when Alex Bishop stole home thanks to a Brian Serven throwing error. This gave Washington a 1-0 lead going into the fourth inning.

But the Sun Devils would not stay down for long, as Colby Woodmansee blasted a Tyler Davis pitch over the left field wall to knot the game at one run apiece.

The scoring barrage continued for the Sun Devils in the fifth, as Andrew Snow ripped a triple to left field that scored Chris Beall. Johnny Sewald added an RBI double that brought in Snow and gave ASU a 3-1 lead.

Washington battled back, however, as Josh Cushing singled to score Alex Schimdt and Branden Berry and tie the game at three runs.

Andrew Snow picked up his second RBI of the game in the seventh with a single to bring home Trever Allen and give ASU a 4-3 advantage.

In the bottom of the ninth, Sun Devil closer Ryan Burr gave up a single to the first batter he faced, but then struck out three straight Huskies to secure the 4-3 win.

The Sun Devils will face the Huskies in the rubber match tomorrow at 1 p.m. Brett Lilek will take the hill for ASU.
